S.I Units

Use of different system of units became very inconvenient for exchanging scientific information between different parts of the World. Hence in October 1960, at the Eleventh International General Conference of weight and measures, in Paris, a common system of unit called “Systeme Internationale d’ Units” (S.I. Units) was accepted. This international system of units called S.I units consists of seven fundamental units, two supplementary units and large number of derived units. The S.I. system has now replaced all other systems of unit and has greatly simplified exchange of scientific data between different parts of the world.
