 He was a French Scientist, mathematician and founder of hydrogen balloon technology.

Charles launched in the sky, world's first unmanned hydrogen filled balloon in 1783. Then he ascended to the height of 1800 feet with the help of hydrogen balloon. He used hydrogen filled balloon extensively and made it popular so that this type of balloons were named Charliere. Charles is famous for his Volume-temperature relationship. the Charles' law. He was elected to the Academy des Science in 1973. Then he became professor of physics at the Conservations des Art etc. Metiers.
