CERISTIAN HUYGENS { 1629 - 1695 }

Christian Huygens was a Duch physicist and astronomer. He is best known for his contributions to the field of dynamics and optics. He was the leading proponent of the wave theory of light. In 1960, he developed the concept of wavefront but could not expalin colour. On the basis of his wave theory he deduced he laws of reflection and refraction. The wave theory  was supported by the Maxwell-Boltzmann kinetic theory of gases. This theory showed that temperature and heat involved only molecular movement. His successful interpretation of electromagnetic field peoduced the field equation that bear his name.
